Montana Project Overview

Project Overview

At U.S. Energy, we we’re committed to delivering innovative industrial gas solutions while advancing environmental stewardship. Our helium processing and CO2 sequestration project is a key part of this mission.
The process begins at our wholly owned production wells, where we extract industrial gases. These gases are then sent to our processing plant, built on proven, industry-tested technology. Here, helium—a critical resource for industries like healthcare, technology, and aerospace—is separated, purified to high standards, and prepared for market sale. The remaining CO2 is captured and transported via pipelines to our nearby injection well, where it is securely stored underground.
This project delivers a reliable supply of high-purity helium while efficiently managing CO2. It’s also designed to qualify for 45Q tax credits, underscoring its value as a strategic and innovative solution.

Our operations span 164,000 highly contiguous acres on the Kevin Dome in Northwest Montana, secured through two strategic acquisitions since July 2024. This expansive area supports our production wells, processing facility, and injection well, forming the backbone of our CO2 sequestration and helium production efforts.
